Tiruvannamalai Devasthanam is an independent pilgrim guide. We are not the Arunachaleswarar Temple, and we are not the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department. We do not sell tickets, take bookings, or collect money on the temple’s behalf. This page explains who we are, how we research what we publish, and how to reach us if something is wrong.
Who writes this site
Tiruvannamalai Devasthanam is written and maintained by an independent editorial team of writers and researchers who document pilgrimage to the Arunachaleswarar Temple and Arunachala Hill. We started publishing in late 2025 and add and update guides regularly. Articles are published under our editorial team because our work is collaborative — a guide is researched, written, fact-checked, and edited by more than one person before it goes live.
How we verify what we publish
Temple timings, festival dates, seva costs, and ritual details change, and getting them wrong wastes a pilgrim’s trip. Before we publish or update any factual claim, we cross-check it against:
- the Tamil Nadu HR&CE Department, which administers the temple;
- on-the-ground reports and first-hand accounts from Tiruvannamalai; and
- at least two independent published sources that agree with each other.
Festival and Girivalam (full-moon) dates are re-verified every year against the current panchangam rather than carried over, because they shift with the lunar calendar. Where a detail cannot be confirmed, we say so plainly instead of guessing, and we hedge timings that vary by day or season rather than stating a single false-precise figure.

If you find a timing, date, price, or fact on this site that is out of date or wrong, please tell us through our contact page. We check reader corrections against the same sources above and update the page — and its published date — when a correction is confirmed.
Independence and how we are funded
This site is supported by advertising. Advertising never decides what we cover or what we say about a temple, a seva, or a service — our guides carry the same information whether or not a topic can be monetised. We have no financial relationship with the temple administration or with any booking agent, and we do not accept payment to rank, recommend, or hide any service.
What we are careful about
Because we are an independent guide and not the temple, we always point pilgrims to the official HR&CE channels for anything involving payment — VIP darshan tickets, seva bookings, and donations — and we warn against unofficial agents who overcharge. For religious and historical matters we describe traditional belief as belief, and we separate what is scripturally or historically documented from what is devotional tradition.
